Obituary for John F. Magosin Jr.

John F. Magosin, Jr.
Of Voorhees, NJ and formerly of Brigantine, Cherry Hill and Ocean City, NJ, passed away on October 27, 2018 at home. He was 86.
Jack Magosin was born to John F. Magosin, Sr. and Margaret Catherine Wilkins on June 25, 1932 in Collingswood, NJ. Jack was predeceased by his brother Joseph. A lifelong saltwater fisherman, Jack delighted in sharing his passion for the sea with his family and friends. Jack worked as a lifeguard in Brigantine, NJ and served four years in the U.S. Navy as a cryptographer assisting the predecessor agency to today's NSA, while honing his skills as a bridge player. Following his service to our country during the Korean War, Jack attended LaSalle College, graduating in 1958 with honors. After completing graduate level coursework at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Jack began his career as a sales and marketing executive first with RCA and then with SCT and Sperry Univac. Upon his retirement, Jack spent his time selling commercial real estate, playing bridge and billiards with friends and contributing to the Centennial Mills homeowner's association. An avid bibliophile, he especially loved participating in the history book club. He cherished the time he spent and his friends made at LaSalle and actively instilled a love of learning in his children and grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne (nee Dodelin), their four children, John F. Magosin, III, Karen A. Rodio, Susan A. Magosin, and Stephen G. Magosin, and their eight grandchildren Kaylin, Brian, Kristen, Lauren, Alexander, William John, Sarah, and Hannah.
A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:45 AM on Saturday, November 3rd at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 27 Kresson-Gibbsboro Rd., Gibbsboro, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon on Saturday. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cem. in Berlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to LaSalle University School of Business.
